Dean Hely

Non-Executive Chairman

Mr Hely is the managing partner of the independent West Australian legal firm Lavan and a partner in the corporate and reconstruction group. Mr Hely has more than 27 years’ experience working in corporate reconstruction, insolvency and commercial litigation.

Mr Hely was admitted as a partner of Lavan’s predecessor firm, Phillips Fox Perth, in 1999, deputy managing partner of that firm and then of Lavan from 2002 to 2013, and became managing partner of Lavan in 2013. In 2016, Mr Hely and others established Quadrant Advisory, a debt advisory practice that assists clients ranging from mid-sized companies though to ASX listed companies with their debt requirements.

Dean is a board member of the not for profit organisations Rugby WA, the Australian Institute of Management WA and Youth Focus.

Simon Lawson

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Lawson is a professional geoscientist with more than 15 years’ experience spanning multiple commodities and jurisdictions and was a founding team member of Northern Star Resources (ASX: NST).

Currently Mr Lawson is the Managing Director of ASX-listed Gascoyne Resources (ASX: GCY), a West-Australian gold-producer, and has personally visited and reviewed the acquired Canadian gold properties.

Kelvin Flynn

Non-Executive Director

Mr Flynn is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 34 years’ experience in investment banking and corporate advisory roles including financing, M&A, private equity and special situations investments in the mining and resources sector.

He has held various leadership positions in Australia and Asia, having previously held the position of Executive Director/Vice President with Goldman Sachs and Managing Director of Alvarez & Marsal in Asia. He is the Executive Chairman of Harvis, which is a specialist private lender and merchant banking firm in Western Australia.

Kelvin (via Harvis) advised on Wildcat’s acquisition of Tabba Tabba, is a previous ~14 year director of Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN), a 13 year director of Global Advanced Metals Pty Ltd and is currently a non-executive director of Vault Minerals Limited. Prior to the creation of Vault through Red 5’s recent merger with Silver Lake Resources (ASX: SLR), Kelvin had been a director of Silver Lake for 8.5 years.

Alex Hewlett

Non-Executive Director

Mr Hewlett is a qualified geologist who is highly skilled at project identification and acquisition. Previously Chairman of Spectrum Metals Limited, Mr Hewlett oversaw its growth from mid-2018 to being taken over by established goldminer Ramelius Resources Ltd in early 2020.

More recently, Mr Hewlett led the identification and acquisition of Tabba Tabba (from GAM owned by RCF) for Wildcat Resources Limited and the acquisition and development of the Mt Ida project (from Ora Banda) for Delta Lithium Limited.

Craig Jones

Non-Executive Director & Technical Consultant

Mr Jones is an experienced mining engineer with more than 28 years’ experience in West Australian underground hard-rock mining operations, primarily in operational leadership roles. Before joining GG8, Craig was the Chief Operating Officer of Spartan Resources Ltd, where he played an instrumental role in establishing the underground access at Dalgaranga whilst also overseeing the DFS study program.

In addition, Craig served a key role in the M&A activities and the eventual successful merger with Ramelius Resources. Previously, Craig served tenures as the Chief Executive Officer of Poseidon Nickel and Chief Operating Officer for Bellevue Gold. Mr Jones has also held senior roles in operations, mine management, and business development for various mining companies, including Northern Star Resources. During his career, Craig has been instrumental in optimising, integrating, and operating underground mines as well as upgrading mill infrastructure and installing major capital projects at various operations. Mr Jones has also led projects through from Definitive Feasibility Study stage to construction and into production. Craig holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the University of Ballarat and a WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate.

Executive Leadership Team

Charles Hughes

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Hughes is a professional geologist with 17 years of experience in the resources industry, during which time he has held executive positions at Delta Lithium and senior management positions at Bellevue Gold, Northern Star and Saracen. Mr Hughes is highly skilled at identifying growth opportunities, developing and leading aggressive resource growth and development strategies, and delivering results.

More recently, Mr Hughes has overseen more than 400km of drilling across multiple development projects in the last 3 years with Delta Lithium defining >40Mt of Li2O resource and >750koz of high grade gold resources as well as driving mining permitting, and mining and processing feasibility studies.

Daniel Kendall

Chief Financial Officer

Mr Kendall is an experienced finance executive with approximately 20 years in senior roles across both public and private companies, spanning a range of industries. He has held multiple CFO and Company Secretarial positions, with a strong focus on the resource sector.

Prior to his current role as CFO at mining sector focused Nexxis Technology, Mr Kendall served as CFO and Company Secretary at Delta Lithium, where he played a key role in the company’s growth and was instrumental in securing over $100 million in capital raisings. Mr Kendall holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Chartered Accountant, and is a member of both the Governance Institute of Australia and the Finance Brokers Association of Australia. He commenced his career in audit with BDO.

Matt Crowe

Exploration Manager

Mr. Crowe is an experienced exploration geologist with 20 years’ experience working for major and junior companies across a broad range of commodities in the Western Australian resources industry; including Principal Geologist at BHP, and Chief Operating Officer/Exploration Manager at Dreadnought Resources.

He has extensive experience leading both greenfields and brownfields exploration teams which included discoveries in copper, gold, nickel, iron ore, rare earths and niobium. In 2023 he was co-recipient of AMEC’s Prospector Award for the Yin REE discovery which involved a period of rapid exploration and resource definition following the initial discovery.

Kelly Moore

Company Secretary

Ms Moore is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Chartered Company Secretary and Director at Meridian Corporate Consultants, with extensive experience in senior financial and governance advisory roles. Having previously held senior roles providing corporate accounting and governance services to a wide range of entities, Ms Moore has gained a wealth of experience in the financial reporting and compliance requirements of companies, both listed and unlisted.

Ms Moore previously worked in audit and assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers Perth, which has provided her with additional experience in the preparation of financial statements and a detailed knowledge of both ASIC and ASX compliance requirements. Ms Moore holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of WA majoring in Accounting and Finance and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jarrod Ramadan

Principal Mining Engineer / Studies Manager

Mr Ramadan is a highly experienced technical and operational mining professional with over 16 years of experience in the mining and metals industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and a Western Australian First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.

Throughout his career, Jarrod has held a range of technical and statutory leadership roles, including Site Senior Executive, Underground Manager, and Quarry Manager. He is proficient across both open pit and underground mining disciplines and has worked across multiple commodities. He has extensive experience in mine development, commissioning, and operational leadership, having successfully led the start-up of the Penny, Riverina, and Sand King gold operations, from feasibility through to production with Ramelius Resources and Ora Banda Mining. He currently leads a specialist team of mining consultants providing professional mining engineering services to the Western Australian mining industry.

Chris Goti

Heritage & Environmental Studies

Mr. Goti is a land access professional who has extensive experience in management positions within the WA gold mining and exploration industry, responsible for obtaining environmental approvals and negotiating Native Title Agreements. Prior to joining GG8, Chris was the General Manager - Environment & Heritage of Spartan Resources Ltd.
